Who We Are
We are a Foursquare Church serving in Coos Bay, Oregon serving Coos Bay, North Bend and surrounding areas. We see the Church as a family - a place that you can belong to. This community of believers is a place to worship, to learn, to grow, to fail, and to be supported as we all continue our apprenticeship to Jesus. In short, we exist to help people FIND and FOLLOW Jesus!
Chris Bowlby
Pastor Chris joined us as our Lead Pastor in May of 2022. Chris grew up in Redmond OR, and after an encounter with Jesus, began participating with ministry at a local Foursquare Church. Chris served on staff at City Center Church in Redmond, OR before moving to Salem, OR to serve as the Associate Pastor at New Hope Foursquare. Chris and Alyssa felt the Lord’s Compassion for Coos County and chose to partner with God’s expanding Kingdom in Coos Bay and North Bend. Chris and Alyssa have five daughters. They love all things south coast . . . especially the fish tacos!

Brenda Swank // Admin + Youth
I’m Brenda and I’m a Jesus lovin’ wife and mom of 4. I have served here at BA4 as a co-youth pastor with my husband since 2015, and the office administrator since September of 2022. My heart for reaching the youth of this community started in the mid 90’s while walking the halls of a local high school and being surrounded by broken and depressed teenagers searching for belonging. I have been involved in youth ministry off and on ever since. I’m a country girl to the core, love photography, and any and all activities that involve being with my family: camping, rafting, riding ATV’s, sports, fun game nights and cozy movie nights.
Jeff Swank // Youth + Adult Ministries
I’m Jeff Swank, husband and father of 4, and I have been the youth pastor here at BAFC since 2015, serving our young people alongside my wife. I have served in youth ministry of some sort for the majority of the last 25 years. I love watching young people take ownership of their relationship with Jesus Christ. Being a part of their maturing into amazing young adults is one of the joys of my life. I love teenagers’ desire to grow and be challenged, even when they cloak it in coolness! Born and raised in North Bend, I love the community and all that it has to offer. One of my passions is riding ATV’s in the dunes and I love hunting and generally being in the outdoors as well.
Alyssa Bowlby // Kid's Ministry
I’m Alyssa Bowlby and I get the privilege of serving as our kids director here at BAFC. I have served in kids ministry for several years in many different capacities and one of my favorite parts is getting to see kids experience the gospel in real and tangible ways, whether it’s through a craft, a game, our lesson, or the love of our wonderful volunteers each week. Kids are so fun, quirky, and random which is part of what makes being a kids director the best. Here are some interesting facts about me – I love dinosaurs, one of my favorite sandwiches is peanut butter and cheddar cheese, and I enjoy all furniture refinishing/construction projects.
